Fish in a Tree Discussion Post #1

On page 11, Ally says, “I wish I had my Sketchbook of Impossible Things. It’s the only thing that makes me feel like I’m not a waste of space.” In the sketchbook, Ally draws the images she sees in her mind movies. Why does Ally feel like a “waste of space”?  Albert Einstein wrote, “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Given this quote,  How is the title of the book related to Ally’s sense of hopelessness?

Fish Discussion Post #1

Imagine having to leave home under the threat of danger and facing harm. Think of the Syrian refugee crisis as a current example. What would you take with you in those rushed moments before leaving. The restriction is that any items must fit in their backpack and must be carried by you alone, For your first entry, create a list of what you would decide to take and why.
